I'm curious about how Gorelo will handle Mac / Linux app management?
Will it be homebrew with the associated problems of having to run under a real user ($ASKPASS required) or will they use Macports?
Are there any other app management methods I don't know about?

There are some commercial thrid party patch management tools that we use (as we are Apple first) that are driven from config profiles.
We work with https://appcatalog.cloud and have a number of partnerships with smaller MSP who don't meet their fleet minimums to aid them in having this functionality via hybrid / sub-resale model.
